Explosion proof ventilation equipment used in or around classified areas must be powered through certified connections that maintain the integrity of the hazardous area classification. For Zone 1 tank entries, the fan motor and power connections must be rated for Zone 1. Power supply cables must be certified, and connections made using explosion proof plugs and sockets.
