The Acquisition
On 26 November 2025, Raytec Ltd — the UK-based global leader in high-performance LED lighting for hazardous areas, security, and heavy industry — announced the acquisition of Atexor Oy, a Finnish manufacturer of ATEX and IECEx certified portable and temporary explosion proof lighting systems.
The two companies bring complementary strengths: Raytec is the leading name in fixed Zone 1 and Zone 2 LED luminaires (high bays, floodlights, linear lights, bulkheads, and emergency lighting), while Atexor is the industry standard for portable and temporary hazardous area lighting — the transformers, cable reels, splitter boxes, and inspection lamps used during shutdowns, turnarounds, and confined space operations.
